Understanding the Pythagorean Number in Numerology
Pythagorean Numerology is based on the principle that a particular set of numbers impacts the various aspects of the life of a person. It is also known as Modern Numerology or Western Numerology.
The primary objective of Pythagorean Numerology is to link the vibrations created by the name of a person and its link with the numbers.
History of the Pythagorean Numerology
Pythagoras was a Greek Mathematician and philosopher. He has a mathematical theorem in his name known as the Pythagoras Theorem.
This system interprets the meaning of certain primary numbers in the life of a person. These numbers are derived from the birth date or the name of a person. They offer us an understanding of the personality, main traits, and the real objective in life.
There are 5 main numbers in Pythagorean numerology.
They are: Life Path Number, Soul Urge Number, Expression Number, Personality Number, and Birthday Number.
Life Path Number
Life Path Number is the primary number in this numerology. It is akin to a zodiac sign in astrology. It defines the fundamental traits of a person, strengths and challenges and the life course a person is likely to follow in his lifetime.
Life Path Number is obtained by reducing the numbers in the birthdate of a person to a single digit. However, master numbers 11, 22, and 33 are not reduced to a single digit.
If the birthdate of a person happens to be September 21, 1942,
It will be 9+2+1+1+9+4+2 = 28. Reduce it further to 2+8 = 10 = 1+0 = 1.
Hence Life Path Number of the person is 1.
Soul Urge Number or Heart’s Desire Number
The Soul Urge Number is an indicator of a person’s inherent strengths and wishes. It delves deep into the perceptions and indicates genuine desires. This will help a person to take the necessary steps to achieve them.
The calculation of the Soul Urge Number is by eliminating the consonants in the full name of a person. The remaining vowels are assigned the dedicated numbers. Adding them together and arriving at a single digit will give the Soul Urge Number.
Value of Vowels: A=1, E=5, I=9, O= 6, U= 3.
If the letter Y is used as a vowel, Y=7.
If the name of a person is Henry Smith,
The vowels in the name are e, y, and i.
Soul Urge Number will be E+Y+I = 5+7+9 = 21 = 2+1 = 3.
Expression Number
Expression Number is an indicator of strengths and weaknesses of a person. Its other name is “Destiny Number”. It gives an idea about the inherent capabilities that will help a person to achieve his life ambitions. Also, it gives an idea about the problems the person is likely to encounter to reach his goals.
Expression Number is calculated by assigning a numerical value to all the letters in a particular name and finally arriving at a single digit.
Values of Letters: A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4, E=5, F=6, G=7, H=8, I=9, J=1, K=2, L=3, M=4, N=5, O=6, P=7, Q=8, R=9, S=1, T=2, U=3, V=4, W=5, X=6, Y=7, Z=8.
If the name of a person is James Hunt, it will be
1+1+4+5+1+ 8+3+5+2= 30 = 3+0 = 3.
Hence Soul Urge Number is 3.
Personality Number
As the name suggests, this number is an indicator of the exclusive characteristics of a person. It may also indicate his personal favorites regarding elegance and fashion. The number is derived by subtracting the Soul Urge Number from the Destiny Number.
Also, it obtains by the addition of numerological values of the consonants in the name.
Method 1: If the Soul Urge Number of a person is 8 and Destiny Number is 5,
Personality Number= 8-5= 3
Method 2: Name: John Hunt
The consonants in the name are J, H, N, H, N, T
By assigning numbers to these consonants,
We get, J=1, H=8, N=5, H=8, N=5, T=2. By adding we get 1+8+5+8+5+2= 29 = 2+9 = 11 = 1+1 = 2.
The Personality Number of John Hunt is 2.
Birthday Number
Birthday Number of a person indicates the exceptional qualities of a person. It is an indicator of the special aptitudes a person has and how they can use it for the service of humanity. Birthday Number is just the day of the month you came into existence. It can not be reduced further. If your day of birth is 21, the Birthday Number is just 21.
Each Day has specific characteristics.
