Learn the Feng Shui Tips For Your Better Vitality

We’ve all heard of the term “Feng Shui” before. North America has decided to popularize the term, and it has since become a buzzword. So much so that architects and interior designers specialize in “Feng Shui,” but does any practice it? There are only eight tips of what is a very long list of practices. If these seem doable, I highly encourage you to move forward and look for other Feng Shui methods for better vitality.

Feng shui is a set of practices and principles that, if followed, are supposed to lead to a better life. It is an ancient art and science developed thousands of years ago in China.

Feng Shui is not the misconception commonly portrayed in the media where the room is misaligned and the furniture is stacked to the ceiling – it’s meant to make your life and health better.

People also believe it is a complete overhaul of an old way of living. People don’t realize that it doesn’t have to be complicated, and it doesn’t have to be stressful. If anything, it’s supposed to relieve stress.

Don’t believe me? Well, here are 8 simple Feng Shui tips to improve your vitality.

1. Clear your spaces

I know I promised that it would be easy, and it will. I just decided to lead with the most challenging step – cleaning. People have so many things, especially now that we live in a consumerist society. Money is equated to happiness. Why? So we can purchase more stuff we don’t need.

In actuality, clearing our spaces of unused, unwanted, or unneeded items and putting everything in the proper place will make us happier.

There are so many uncontrollable factors in life, but the state of your space is typically in your control. Even within your mind, clear the need to reach for your phone, and do away with bitterness and anger – you don’t need them; they’re clutter2. Take your shoes off when entering the home.

Simple right? You may already be doing this, and you should undoubtedly continue to do this. For one, taking your shoes off before entering your home is a separator between the work and the situation you have just left and puts you in the mindset of being at home.

2. Light and Fresh Air for Better Vitality

When you’re in a cramped, dark, and mono-shade environment and feeling trapped, it’s not a great feeling. Humans come from nature. I understand that people tend to avoid that with technology and urban centers, but it’s not something people should avoid.

If anything, seek out that nature because humans, biologically, thrive better in it. People function better with fresh air which comes from, you guessed it, trees. It’s in science.

Try to center living spaces around windows to let in light and fresh air. Have plants in your home, office, and garden, and paint your home with bright colors.

3. Sounds of nature

What a great time to be alive! The number of sounds available at our fingertips whenever we want it – there are so few excuses we’re not relaxed.

Arrange a playlist with the sounds of nature, whether wind through the trees, a stream in the forest, or the season’s first rainfall. There’s enough to feel immersed in nature without having to go anywhere wholly.

4. Create a quiet space

Meditation has come up so much more in today’s culture. It’s a tried and tested practice of calming the mind and improving awareness that has been practiced for thousands and thousands of years.

If a principle is that old and still proven beneficial, why is it not a common everyday occurrence for so many people? Let’s change that. Many argue that it’s difficult to clear the mind, especially with so many distractions.

Hence, the first step in this tip is to create a quiet space that eliminates all distractions. It is an excellent, bright, comfortable location where you can sit and clear your mind, ultimately leading to improved decision-making and better health.

5. Arrange your bedroom

It’s no surprise to many that increased sleep and getting a good rest will dramatically improve one’s health. Positioning your bed away from the door will keep your head beside a solid wall, giving you a better view of the space and reducing noise.

Any tensing energy remains near the room entrance, leaving the bedroom owner to have a good night’s rest, waking with increased vitality.

Likewise, take a look at what you’re sleeping on and where. Older mattresses, like old paint and older carpets, may emit toxic material or energy. Get a new bed, change the sheets, and remove old, dingy carpets from your bedroom, and if possible, you’re home. You would be amazed at the added benefits to your health.

6. Keep holes for water blocked off

Your home is your center of well-being. It’s where you go to unwind at the end of the day, and as such, you have to maintain the vitality of the home in all aspects – even those symbolic.

When your drains are open in your center (i.e., the toilet seat cover is left empty, the washing machine door is available), your health is going down the drain symbolically. Leaving the toilet seat open may release unnecessary odors into your living.

Leaving the door to the washing machine open may increase the need for maintenance, which means your finances will decrease. Do you have a leaky faucet? Take care of that as soon as possible – money is down the drain!

7. Place a plant for Better Vitality

Are there highly pointed objects in your living spaces? Jagged objects invoke negative chi, and placing greenery around evokes positive vibes and absorbs negativity. Are there objects that look to move downward? Place a potted plant near them to reduce the negative associations.

There you have it, folks! Eight simple tips and tricks to improve the Feng Shui in your spaces and your life. You are your most important asset, so taking care of yourself is essential.

Vitality and positive energy are already built into Feng Shui’s practices, so why not start with an art that has stood the test of time to improve your life? Live better and stay well, my friends.
